Car elevators and their characteristics

At every service station or car service center or a car elevator is one of the most necessary equipment. Starting with car maintenance works, camber, to its diagnostics, everything is connected with lifting the car to a height, when it will be convenient for the master to cope with his work.

The design of the car elevator is designed to lift and then hold the car. As a rule, car elevators have an electro-hydraulic drive, which facilitates the lifting of equipment weighing several tons. An employee does not have to exert any effort – you just need to press the button or a lever to pump a working fluid, the pressure of which actuates the mechanism to elevator the car elevator.

Features of car lifts

Load capacity.
Depending on the model of the car elevator, it may be 500-45000 kg. Usually 4-pillar and scissor devices are designed for a greater weight, since their wide platform evenly takes the load of a heavy vehicle. If the equipment has a lifting capacity of less than a ton, it is used for lifting parts and some parts of the car, the elevators rated at 1 or 2 tons are designed to serve cars, 2-6 tons – vans and SUVs, and over 10 tons – special equipment and trucks.
Lifting height
This indicator means the limit of the distance from the ground, to which the car can be lifted. In car elevators of different models this value varies between 760-2000mm. The equipment is chosen based on the work to be performed on it. Car elevators with a lifting height of less than 1000 mm are used to repair individual assemblies and parts. If you need to carry out painting and other bodywork, the elevator is sufficient to raise the technique to 1.5 meters. If repair work will be carried out, including maintenance of axles or suspension, it is necessary to pay attention to the equipment lifting even higher.
